Physics is, of necessity and tradition, a laboratory Science. Students cannot gather sufficient knowledge without involving themselves with the laboratory work. The objectives of the laboratory work are : (i) to acquire a first hand acquaintance with physical laws and Principles, (ii) to acquire training in scientific methods, and (iii) to learn the techniques of making careful observations and precision measurements, and to draw conclusions from them. The topics connected with the science and the art of measurements are of great importance to the students and have been dealt with step by step in a very lucid way in the first two chapters of the book. The book contains thirty experiments, and each experiment preceded by the necessary and relevant theory with excellent diagrams which enable the students to grasp the underlying principle thoroughly. A brief description of the actual apparatus has also been given wherever found necessary. The equipments utilized in describing most of the experiments are standard and traditional in character. The experimental procedure is given in Hindi also, so that the students may perform the experiments in laboratory without any one's guidance.
